About the ggfyp Board

    • The GGFYP Board of Directors determines the organizational and fiscal direction of the organization. The Board is made up of eleven voting members, including an executive team, three committee chairpersons, an internal advisor, and two members at large.
    • The Board of Directors meets on the second Thursday of each month at the The 701 Coworking Space by Evolve GF. For more information or for meeting minutes, please contact Gon Carlson.

Want to get involved?

  • The board of directors has rotating positions open each year. GGFYP Board of Directors is a working board; this means the board of directors handles both high-level governance and assists the Executive Director with operational tasks.
  • Applications open annually in September; the selection process happens in October – November, and onboarding happens in December. Preference may be given to current and active members of GGFYP. 

Expectations of board members

  1. Be an active member and advocate for GGFYP.
  2. Attend monthly board meetings. The minimum attendance expected of each individual board member is 75%.
  3. Can dedicate 5-10 hours per month to support/or assist with GGFYP activities, board responsibilities, and other duties assigned by the Board.
  4. Fulfill a full 2-year term beginning January 1 and ending December 31.
Board responsibilities

Member-at-Large Elections

    • All Board positions are nominated by the current GGFYP Board of Directors with the exception of the Member-at-Large position. Member-at-Large is still required to submit an application to the Board.
    •  
    • The Member-at-Large represents the voice of general GGFYP membership, bridging communication between members and the Board of Directors.  This position is voted on by all of GGFYP Membership. All GGFYP members are highly encouraged to vote for the candidate who best represents the membership.

    • Elections are held annually in November.
