The Grow Grand Award honors regional employers who provide ample opportunities for young adults and create an exceptional and professional environment for them to work and succeed in.“It’s extremely important to YPs and our entire community to have quality jobs for our citizens, providing them resources they need and want in order to stay in our community and call Grand Forks home,” said Stacey Heggen (Executive Director of GGFYP).
GGFYP saw a great response from the community and several outstanding candidates were in the running for the Grow Grand Award as the ‘Best Place to Work’.
“We awarded the Grow Grand Award to Choice Financial because of its strong commitment to helping young professionals grow and succeed,” said Heggen. “Focusing on young talent is a top priority for them.” Choice Financial offers a mentorship program, on and off the job training, and career path assistance among other things. YPs working at Choice Financial serve on senior management teams and committees, and are encouraged to share ideas and thoughts. “Choice Financial does a great job recognizing contributions made by YPs within the company,” Heggen said. Written recognition from board members, articles in internal and external newsletters, and personal letters to family and friends are just a few of the ways Choice Financial recognizes outstanding work and achievements by YPs.
“The Grow Grand Award is one way YPs can honor businesses that provide valuable opportunities and support to YPs, and we hope to encourage other businesses to follow Choice Financials’ lead,” said Heggen. Applications for the Grow Grand Award will be forwarded to the North Dakota Young Professionals Network for the state ‘Best Place Awards’.
